PHI GAMMA DELTA (FIJI) AT OHIO UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

With its proud tradition of academic success, the Alpha Omega Delta Colony of Phi Gamma Delta considers scholastic excellence to be one of the most important qualities of an undergraduate brother. Recent success in the academic department illustrates Alpha Omega’s commitment to scholarship, as the chapter has maintained the highest overall cumulative grade point average among Ohio University’s active fraternities.

To ensure the continuation of this success, the house has instituted a variety of initiatives to incentivize success in the classroom. Each semester, for example, Alpha Omega distributes scholarship checks, ranging from $250 to $500, to the member(s) receiving the highest semester grade point average and  the highest overall accumulative semester grade point average, based on a full-time academic class load.

The house also preserves punitive measures for members who do not meet minimal expectations. A 2.5 grade point average is required of active members each semester to retain residence in the house. When a brother fails to meet this standard, he is placed on probation for one semester during which he must achieve a cumulative exceeding 2.5. If he fails to do this, he will lose his privilege to live in the house the following semester.
